Survey Question Type: Multiple Drop-Down

What it does- This type of survey question allows a respondent to select a single answer option from each of several drop-down menus.

When to use: This question type should be used when trying to extract information from a multiple-choice question.

Advantages: Applied in the survey design phase, this type of question saves space on the survey by using drop-downs. Survey administrators can put many choices into each drop-down, thereby increasing the quality of the respondent’s answer.

Disadvantages: Survey questions of this type should not be used when trying to extract open-ended, ranking, or rating information.
