Survey Question Type: Radio Button

What it does- This survey question displays all answers vertically below the question, and only one answer selection can be made.

When to use: This question type is used when the Survey Administrator has few answer choices and wants only one answer to be selected.

Advantages: Implemented during survey design, this question type saves valuable space on the survey, which increases the likelihood that more respondents will complete the survey, since the survey seems shorter (i.e. increased response rates).

Disadvantages: Survey questions of this type should not be employed when trying to extract open-ended information, when trying to gain insight on the rank or rating of a particular issue, or when you want a respondent to be able to select more than one answer.
