Survey Question Type: Rating

What it does- Survey questions of this type allow respondents to rate a specific issue.

When to use: Used in survey design phase, this question type is useful when Survey Administrators want a weighted average of responses and when information on how respondents rate a particular issue is being sought.

Advantages: This question type allows for a weight to be associated with a qualitative value. Questions of this type allow you to determine the weighted average based on the qualitative answers selected by the respondent. This question type also conserves space on the survey by using a drop-down.

Disadvantages: This type of survey question should not be used when trying to extract open-ended, ranking, or multi-select information.
