Survey Etiquette: Best Time to Send Survey Invites
Making the invitations convenient for the respondents goes a long way in
boosting response rates for surveys.
To use best practices in survey distribution, invites and survey reminders
shouldn’t be sent out during or near a holiday. Sending survey invites and
reminders out on a Friday afternoon is not recommended either, as most
people won’t complete it over the weekend and may forget about it by Monday.
The timing of a survey reminder is also important. To maximize data
collection efforts, don’t send invites too soon after a survey because it
can give the impression that you are desperate for responses.
Likewise, waiting too long after a survey is deployed to send survey
reminders runs the risk of having people forget about your initial email.
When sending survey reminders in order to maximize response rates, Survey
Administrators should try to strike a balance between these two extremes.
