Survey Distribution Considerations: Invites as HTML, Plain Text, or Email-Embedded

Survey Administrators can ensure successful delivery of the survey invite with the flexibility to select the format of email invitations sent to your respondents. Using the most appropriate format will have positive effects on response rates as well.

HTML

By sending your email invitation with an HTML link, your respondents will receive an HTML email with a link to access the survey.

Plain Text

You can choose to send a plain text email with a link to the survey if your respondents are only able to receive plain text email due to Spam settings on their computer.

Email-Embedded

Embedding your survey within the email invitation is convenient because participants don’t have to travel outside that particular browser to complete the survey. However, many email systems have their own spam filters that can mistake a code-heavy email for junk and file it accordingly.

So choose this option only when you know that the recipients’ email server won’t “junk” your invite.
